The most commonly cited Queensland criminal legislation is the Criminal Code Act 1900 the Penalties & Sentences Act 1992 and the Evidence Act 1977. However there are many other acts and regulations that are relevant to criminal law in Queensland. These include the Drugs Misuse Act 1986 and the Drug Misuse Regulation 1987.

The legislation that governs criminal proceedings involving juveniles in Queensland is the Youth Justice Act 1992.
