Waverly Local Court

The Waverley Local Court is located at 151 Bronte Road, Waverley in New South Wales. The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters involving adults commence. It is also the court that hears summary criminal matters, including traffic offences and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications. The Waverley Local Court sits as the Waverley Children’s Court for matters involving people under the age of 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court, but anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave when the court is sitting as the Children’s Court.

If you have a matter before the Waverley Local Court, make sure you arrive well before the time your matter is listed. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed and you should come prepared to be at court for several hours.

The doors to the court typically open at 9 am. It is ideal to arrive about this time. Once inside, if you are unrepresented, let the registry staff know you are there as they will tick off your name and let you know which courtroom your matter is in. The court list commences at 9:30 am.
