Singleton Local Court
Singleton Local Court is located on 39 Elizabeth Street, near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Bourke Street.
In New South Wales, all criminal matters where the accused is an adult commence in the Local Court. Summary matters including traffic offences are finalised in the Local Court (or the Children’s Court, if the accused is under 18). Licence suspension appeals are also heard in the Local Court.
Serious indictable matters are finalised in the Supreme Court or in the District Court. These courts do not sit at Singleton.
If you have a matter at the Singleton Local Court, make sure you arrive at court well before the time your matter is listed to be heard. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed, and you should be prepared to be at court for most of the day.
