Commercial law encompasses a range of matters including commercial leases, employment law, debt recovery and insolvency. In Victoria, some commercial law matters are dealt with by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) while others are dealt with by the courts.

The Victorian Magistrates Court hears commercial disputes of up to $100,000. The County Court and Supreme Court have no jurisdictional limits in commercial claims.
