Warwick Magistrates Court
The Warwick Magistrates Courts are located at 88 Fitzroy Street, Warwick. This court does not sit daily, and instead sits 6 or 7 days per month. The dates it will be sitting can be found on the court calendar.
The Warwick Magistrates Court finalises all summary criminal matters including traffic matters arising from the Warwick area where the accused is an adult. Criminal matters where the accused is under 18 are finalised in the Children’s Court.
All defendants required to appear are bailed or issued with notices to appear at 8.30 am to enable the duty lawyer to take instructions well in advance of court commencing at 9.00 am.
The District Court sits in Warwick for a two-week period in certain months during the year. Whilst the District Court is sitting in Warwick, the Magistrate is on circuit as there is only one courtroom available in the precinct.
