Caboolture Magistrates Court
Caboolture Magistrates Court is located at 30 King Street, Caboolture and sits five days a week commencing at 9.00am. It hears summary criminal matters including traffic matters and domestic violence order applications involving adults. Criminal matters where the accused is under 18 and domestic violence order applications where the respondent is under 18 are heard by the Children’s Court.
Caboolture Magistrates Court hears work license applications every Friday at 9.00am, private domestic violence application on a Wednesday, police domestic violence applications on a Thursday and juvenile justice matters each Wednesday. Urgent domestic violence matters will be heard at 2.00pm daily. The court also attends to swearing in Justices of the Peace at 8.45am daily by appointment.
When a matter is to be finalised by way of a plea of guilty in the Caboolture Magistrates Court, all materials to be relied upon are to be forwarded to the court and to the prosecution two clear days in advance of the sentencing hearing.
There is no District Court or Supreme Court in Caboolture. As such, all indictable matters that must be dealt with in the District or Supreme Court must be committed to the Brisbane courts.
Family law matters and federal law matters are not heard in Caboolture and must be dealt with in the Brisbane Family and Federal Courts.
