Maroochydore Magistrates Court

The Maroochydore Courts are the main courts within the Sunshine Coast district. They are located on Cornmeal Parade, Maroochydore. The Magistrates Court is located on Level 1, with five courts available, with three courts regularly sitting on the same day.

On arrival, you will need to check to see which court your matter will be heard in.  You can find this information printed on a board, at the top of the stairs on level 1. Maroochydore Magistrates Court sits Monday to Friday each week. The day the court will deal with your matter will depend on the type of matter it is.

Arrest court operates daily;

Traffic matters are heard on Monday each week;

Committal call overs occur on Friday on weeks 1, 3 and 5 of each month;

Non-urgent domestic violence matters are heard on Tuesday (urgent matters are heard daily);

Domestic violence order contraventions are heard on the second Friday of each month; and

Youth Justice and Children’s Court matters are heard each Wednesday.

The Maroochydore District Court is also located within the same building, on level 2. You must take a lift to get to the District Court, as the stairs do not continue beyond Level 1. There are four courtrooms available. On each door, there will be a printed list, which names the defendants and the proceedings being heard in that courtroom that day.

Generally, court commences at 9:30 am. However, this can change each day and accordingly, defendants are required to check the list the day prior.
