Mariya Popovchenko is a solicitor in the Contested Estates team at Armstrong Legal. She was admitted as a lawyer by the Supreme Court of New South Wales in October 2022 and the High Court of Australia in May 2023.

Prior to her commencing in the role of a solicitor, Mariya had been the Senior Paralegal of the Contested Estates team at Armstrong Legal since February 2019.

Through her work as a solicitor, and previously as a Senior Paralegal, Mariya has worked on a wide variety of estate litigation, probate and administration matters, including complex probate applications, propounding informal wills, administration of large estates, removal of the executors, will validity suits, and family provision claims.

Mariya practised as a lawyer in Ukraine from 2009 to 2013. She also worked in a legal advisory role in Qatar from 2013 to 2016.
