Perth Family Court and Federal Court
The Family Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia are located in the Peter Durack Commonwealth Law Courts Building, 1 Victoria Ave, Perth.
The Family Court deals with family law matters such as parenting and property settlements while the Federal Court deals with other federal law matters.
If you are driving to court, paid parking can be found on Terrace Road and under the Perth Concert Hall. The courts are accessible by buses, which run along St George’s Terrace. There is a taxi rank on the corner of St George Terrace and Victoria Street.
It is advisable to arrive at court well before the time your matter is listed to be heard and to come prepared to be at court for most of the day. You should dress neatly and conservatively. If you have children, make arrangements for their care for the day as childcare is not available at the courts.
Wheelchair access to the court is via a ramp at the Victoria Street entrance. If you have a hearing or speech impediment, you can contact the court through the National Relay Service.
Judges and magistrates of the Family Court and Federal Court in Perth travel to other locations in Western Australia at intervals throughout the year to hear matters.
