The Sandgate Magistrates Court is located at 84 Keogh Street, Sandgate. The Sandgate Magistrates Court finalises summary criminal matters including traffic matters where the accused is an adult. It also deals with domestic violence order application and minor civil matters.
It hears preliminary mentions of serious indictable matters, which are finalised in the District Court. Criminal matters where the accused is under 18 are heard by the Children’s Court, sitting in the same courtroom.
The Sandgate Magistrates Court is a small court that generally operates only one courtroom. If you are required to appear before the court you should speak with the police prosecutor, They are located outside Court 1 at the far right-hand corner of the building.
