Katanning Magistrates Court is located at 149 Clive Street, Katanning, approximately 287 kilometres from Perth or a three-hour drive.
The court deals with summary criminal matters and civil matters which do not exceed the jurisdictional limit of $75,000. The District Court does not attend Katanning on circuit for criminal matters, nor does it act as a registry for the commencement of civil actions in the District Court. The closest court which acts as a registry for the District Court is Albany Magistrates Court.
The Katanning Court also sits as the Children’s Court, hearing summary criminal matters where the accused person is aged under 18.
