Sylvie Maranis is one of our legal practice directors and has been part of the GTC Legal Group since 2015. She practises exclusively in criminal law and prides herself in delivering professional and honest appraisals of client cases and achieving a just outcome. Sylvie has a tireless commitment to working with staff to achieve great results across the GTC Legal Group.
Since her appointment as a Legal Practice Director and Principal Solicitor, Sylvie has turned her attention towards our team of solicitors, helping them to provide exceptional services to clients. It is her goal to ensure clients receive a reliable and timely service. Sylvie’s role is predominately to oversee the operational management of Armstrong Legal and to work with our national practice directors to provide training, support and guidance.
Sylvie is people focussed, liaising with staff to ensure that the firm provides tailored support for all clients. Sylvie speaks Greek fluently, has an appreciation for the broad diversity of Australian ethnicities and is passionate about helping people understand and demand their legal rights. Her contribution to the community is demonstrated through her several years of after-hours voluntary work in intellectual disability rights, providing after-hours telephone advice to individuals in custody. Sylvie was a finalist in the 13th Victorian Legal awards in the category of Mentor of the Year and additionally, a finalist in the Women in Law Awards 2020 in the category of Wellness Advocate of the Year.
Sylvie holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Behavioural Science) from the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in May 2011 and holds a certificate to practise law in Victoria
