Noosa Magistrates Court

Noosa Magistrates Court is located at 1 Langura Street, Noosa Heads. It is located next door to the Noosa Heads Police Station and across the road from the fire station. The courthouse contains two courtrooms and operates between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Noosa Magistrates Court deals with criminal law matters including traffic matters where the accused is an adult. It also deals with domestic violence order applications and civil law matters. The Children’s Court sits in the same building. It hears criminal law matters where the accused is under 18 and domestic violence order applications where the respondent is under 18.

A justice of the peace service is also available at the Noose Magistrates Court.

The Magistrates who sit in the Noosa Magistrates Court are:

  • Magistrate Madsen
  • Magistrate Stjernqvist
  • Magistrate Baldwin and
  • Magistrate McLaughlin

If you are not legally represented, when you arrive at the court you are required to inform the police prosecution who you are and what you intend to do with your matter that day before you sit down in the courtroom and wait for your matter to be heard.

Parking for the courthouse is behind the building. To access the car park you turn into the driveway between the courthouse and the police station and drive down a slope into the car park. If you are coming from the western side you will need to make a turn at the round just past the courthouse to access the driveway on the left. However, if you are attending court for a traffic matter where a period of licence disqualification may be imposed, do not drive to court.
