Tumbarumba Local Court

Tumbarumba Local Court is located at 23 Bridge Street, Tumbarumba. All summary criminal matters including traffic matters are finalised in the Local Court. The court also deals with applications for Domestic and Personal Violence Orders.

If you have a serious indictable criminal matter, it will be finalised in the District Court or Supreme Court of New South Wales. The District Court and Supreme Court do not sit at Tumbarumba so, although your matter will commence locally, it will likely be finalised in Albury or Wagga Wagga, where the District Court sits on rotation.

The Tumbarumba Local Court sits as the Children’s Court when dealing with criminal matters where the accused is under 18. When the Children’s Court is sitting, the courtroom is closed to the public.

If you are attending Tumbarumba Local Court for a matter, ensure you arrive early and make yourself known to the sheriff’s officer, associate or registrar who will be circulating and recording appearances. Like most regional courthouses, Tumbarumba is a small court and people generally wait outside for their matter to be called. This may not be until mid-morning or later; it largely depends on how many matters are on the magistrate’s list for the day.
