In most Local Courts in New South Wales, matters are first mentioned before a registrar.

At this time you will be asked whether you want to plead guilty or not guilty. You should consider this question carefully as the court will normally discount any sentence if you plead guilty.

If you are in any doubt, whether you should plead guilty or not guilty you should seek an adjournment and obtain legal advice.  If you intend to plead guilty then you or your solicitor should tell the registrar and your matter will be referred to a magistrate for sentencing.

Please indicate whether you intend to be represented by a solicitor or not.
