Junee Local Court

Junee Local Court is located on Belmore Street, in Junee, a small town halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. The Local Court is where all adult summary criminal matters and traffic law matters are finalised. The court also deals with Domestic and Personal Violence Order applications. Junee Local Court also sits as the Children’s Court to hear criminal matters where the accused is under 18. The court closes to the public when sitting as the Children’s Court.

If you have a serious indictable criminal matter arising from the Junee area, the matter is likely to be committed to a higher court. The District Court of NSW does not sit at Junee so, although your matter will commence in Junee, you will likely need to make the short drive to Wagga Wagga to finalise your matter.

Junee is a very small courthouse. You should arrive early, and make your appearance known to the associate or registrar, who is usually circulating with a clipboard. You may need to wait outside the courthouse until your matter is called, which may not be before mid-morning depending on how many matters the court is dealing with that day.

Parking

If you are driving to court, we recommend that you find an all-day park as it is difficult to estimate how long court will take. There is parking available on Belmore Street. If you are attending court for a traffic matter and the offence carries a licence disqualification period, do not drive to court. Such a disqualification period will usually commence immediately.

Junee Courts

Representing clients in court is a critical component of Armstrong Legal’s Junee Lawyers daily activities. Our lawyers appear regularly in the below courts.

Junee Local Courts

The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters involving adults commence. It is also the court that finalises summary criminal matters, including traffic offences, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications.

Junee Children’s Courts

The Junee Local Court sits as the Junee Children’s Court when dealing with criminal matters where the accused is under 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court, but anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave when the court is sitting as the Children’s Court.

Wagga Wagga District Court

If you have a serious indictable criminal matter arising from the Junee area, the matter is likely to be committed to a higher court. The District Court of NSW does not sit at Junee so, although your matter will commence in Junee, you will likely need to make the short drive to Wagga Wagga to finalise your matter.
