THE FAMILY LAW TEAM

Peter Magee - Partner

Peter is a partner of Armstrong Legal and head of our Family Law Division. He has over 15 years experience. He has a broad experience including acted for a number of high profile cases, including athletes in and out of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport, cases involving some of Australia’s most wealthy people in matters involving close to $1 billion, some of Australia’s largest companies, both publicly listed and privately owned including major insurers and some household brands.

Even though he has been involved in high profile cases at the big end of town he has over the last decade to specialize in the area of Family Law. He says:

“The reason for this is simple. I want what I do to make a difference in people’s lives.”

The experience Peter has gained in dealing with such larger cases benefits his clients by providing insight into complex and tactical issues in his cases. This influence often enables him to achieve settlements outside Court that may otherwise have not been achievable.

“In Family Law cases it is always best for people to agree as to how they will resolve things. In some cases that is not possible. I like my client’s to know that they can rely on our expertise so that they don’t have to compromise what is important to them.”

Peter gives practical advice as to what is achievable in any given situation and at what cost so that you can make informed decisions and be in control of your future.

Peter has been admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the High Court of Australia, is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Law Society of New South Wales. He has been a presenter at legal seminars on family law and other areas, a former Young Lawyers Regional Delegate and a mock trial coach in the New South Wales high schools mock trial competition run by the Law Society of New South Wales.

When not at work Peter like to follow the cricket, scuba dive and ride his motor cycle, although you are most likely to find him in the company of his wife and two young sons.
