Biography
David brings to Armstrong Legal a wealth of experience in legal matters relating to the environment, local government and land use planning.
In addition to appearing in general criminal and traffic law matters, he has significant experience in civil enforcement proceedings, development appeals, and criminal proceedings before the Land and Environment Court of NSW, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
Formerly a senior lawyer at a leading boutique firm specialising exclusively in environmental, land use and local government matters, David has advised and represented some of Australia’s largest property developers, private landowners, citizen groups, and an array of local councils and public authorities.
He has taught international law at Macquarie University Law School and been a key member of major research projects relating to environmental and land use law at both the University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University.
As a member of the California Bar, David has successfully passed what is widely recognized as one of the most difficult legal admission examinations in the world.

- The Coastal Protection Act 1979
- The Sydney Water Act 1994
- The Noxious Weeds Act 1993
- Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985
- Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999
- Crimes Act 1900
Relevant Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours)
- Bachelor of Environmental Management
- Member of the State Bar of California / Attorney of the Supreme Court of California
